Marilyn Manson started out as a rock journalist, writing reviews of Album's
such as Hanoi Rocks - Bangkok Shocks...
he also attended many of the early Saigon Kick shows, and was a fan of Mötley
Crüe - Shout At The Devil, while he was growing up.
Manson, formed a band called "Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids" with Daisy Berkowitz & Gidget Gein, the name would later be shortened to just Marilyn Manson.... the band relied on shock rock as a big part of their live show and the music was a mixture of Dark Glam, cookie yet catchy lyrics & spooky sounds. Co-founded; Daisy Berkowitz left the band as Marilyn Manson transformed into an Industrial monster on the second and most renowned album “Anti-Christ Superstar” after meeting Trent Reznor. The bands most Glam moments would come next during the album "Mechanical Animals", wrote mostly by Manson, Zim Zum and Twiggy Ramirez. The band donned large platform boots, and colourful glittery stage cloths. In one of the videos "Dope Show", Manson even wore a costume with prosthetic breasts. John 5; a big fan of KISS would join the band after Zim Zum’s departure before the release of "Mechanical Animals". The most accessible Marilyn Manson album would follow “Holywood”, containing tracks such as “The Fight Song”, “Disposable Teens” & “The Nobodies". Today Marilyn Manson, seems to be making music with a heavy industrial feel to it, Tim Skold formerly of Shotgun Messiah, joined the band on bass after fan favourite Twiggy Ramirez vacated the position, “Golden Age Of Grotesque” was the result. |
